Topping turf with technology for quality disease management solutions

Turf technology for effective disease management solutions was the talk of the day at Syngenta's exhibition stand during this year's inaugural Talking Turf Golf Industry Show (TTGIS) on the 14th and 15th of June at the Sandton Convention Centre.



The Show gave all visiting golf superintendents and green-keepers (from schools to the premium golfing courses in South Africa) the opportunity to engage with the Trade industry and discuss their needs for sustaining premium golf courses and sports fields.


A full field attended the golf day at the TTGIS ice-breaker at the Bryanston Country Club on the 13th of June. This informal setting gave all delegates (namely the guest speakers, exhibitors and visitors) the opportunity to begin mingling with each other for a good round of golf and discussions about the future prospects in turf management.

Then it was all business at the TTGIS as visitors attend the Show's workshops and engaged with the relevant exhibitors in a flurry of writing notes and exchanging ideas and business cards.

Syngenta's new sprayer technology display drew people to the stand throughout the two days as this technology is specifically developed for the turf market. The two different spray nozzles, namely soil- and leaf applicators, offers interested delegates the opportunity to improve their spraying techniques and in-put costs if managed according to the recommend practices. The visitors were excited to participate in the practical demonstrations about the two spray applicators as they gathered around Bennie Buys (LHG Consulting & Services) as he discussed the benefits of each applicator.



Delegates also learnt how Syngenta is at the pinnacle of introducing new and value-adding technology for the golf and turf industry. The two spray nozzles are only one of a range of products that will be introduced to the industry over the coming months.
